Despite a slight baggage delay, we easily found our greeting committee (two teachers who gave up the last Sunday of their Winter Break) who came to fetch us at the airport. After a short 20-minute ride to Senlis, we gathered at the train station (which is no longer used as a train station since it was destroyed by the Germans in WWII nd which the people of Senlis have work hard not to restore so they can stay sheltered from the urban sprawl of Paris).
So, this train station now served as a bus station/public meeting place.
The sign posted on the front of the train station reads: "This station was built in 1922 at the site of the one which the Germans burned on the 2nd of September 1914.
Each girl met her host family there and we all scattered to our host families' homes for some much-deserved rest, a bath, and some friendly relaxation.
Can't wait to hear about your experiences! I hope you all will update often!
